The Angel

This beautiful child  with her perfectly innocent smile, with a huge heart in her hands, is a symbol of new hope and new dreams. The moment  she enters into this world, she is a daughter.  She creates the most powerful, and the most  unbreakable bond with her parents. It is because of this love that she instills into her parents lives, she is an angel.

The Princess

Sirarpi does not believe that the “Princess Phase” has to do with Disney Princess stories. “My grandmothers, my mother, my sister, and myself all of us went through the princess phase. Back in Armenia we didn't have any access to Disney stories or international content”  says Sirarpi. She believes that the princess phase is a magical time and essential time of woman's life.  This time represents her utter innocence, her ability to believe only in the goodness of people, her love for animals, it represents all the magical possibilities of the world around her. “I would give so much to relive my princess phase one more time, I miss my unquestionable love for myself and for the world itself”- Sirarpi.

The Maiden in Teal Dress

The Maiden embodies the promise of new beginnings, youth, excitement, and a carefree erotic aura. Like a flower opening for the first time in the spring, her purpose is to attract. She has big dreams, ideas,  and intense desires, but she’s impatient, blessed with energy and curiosity.  In Armenian culture, her story is about beginning of discoveries and exploration an untouched sexuality.

The Mother:

The Mother is representative of an “Ongoing journey”, says Sirarpi. Giving birth creates a deeper understanding of what self-sacrifice means. The responsibility of motherhood is constantly being put to the test, and as the Mother learns the lessons of giving and compassion, stability and power, her awareness of her path continues to unfold. Her story is about fulfillment. In Armenian culture, women are honored in the Maiden transition and well prepared for this transformation into the Mother stage.

The Matriarch:

It is the wise woman with the lifetime of experience. She imparts knowledge gained from her skills and life experience. She helps those starting on their new path and comforts those left behind. In Armenian culture, she is the most respected, some  elder women are believed to be the masters of healing at the highest level. Young women go to them  before they go to doctors. She gives back to society by utilizing her powers of intuition, and finding meaning in her visions from the dream world and the lifetime of experience under her sleeves.

Artisans in Armenia Introduction to Nane Collection

Dear Reader,

My name is Lusine Yenovkian, March 5, 2015 I launched my online project that I named Nane Collection. I chose the name Nane because it is the name of Armenian Goodness of wiseness, health and strength. Nane Collection is a platform where seekers of unique crafts can connect with talented Armenian artisans a place like no other, where artisans are given the opportunity to showcase their work on the international market. When you purchase fine jewelry, accessories, and artwork through the Nane Collection, you will receive your purchase directly from the artisan’s studio to your home, along with an authentication card signed by the artisans themselves.
Life can be difficult for some in the landlocked nation of Armenia; since gaining independence from the Soviet Union in 1991 the country has endured both war and economic hardship. Having hostile closed borders on two sides has made it difficult for citizens, including artisans, to access the international market.
Nane Collection is a tool for these artisans to remedy this issue. When you purchase an item from the Nane Collection you will be contributing to the income of Armenian families, some of whom are struggling to meet their family’s basic needs. Many of these women are highly educated, but even receiving degrees from Armenia’s top universities, they still have problems finding jobs or generating enough income to live comfortably. All of our artisans have creative minds, and have been practicing their craft from the early days of their youth, passed down from their grandparents to them. The pieces that you can find at Nane Collection are all one-of-a-find, because they something that was not mass-produced in a factory, you are purchasing a slice of someone’s life, love, imagination and dedication to their craft.

Sincerely,
Lusine Yenovkian
